If you are an existing participant of the UNSW Gout App (GAPP) Study and have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The GAPP Study recruited people who have had one or more gout attacks in the past 12 months and have access to a smartphone or tablet with internet to test a new mobile application (app) for people with gout.

To take part in the study:

  • Use a mobile app for one year and record gout attacks;
  • See their GP and have blood tests (uric acid and creatinine) 3 times a year;
  • Fill out 3 surveys, including questions about their gout and treatment.

They are reimbursed for their time with a $30 gift voucher, after completing both a blood test and a survey at each time point of the study: the start, at 6 months, and 12 months ($90 in total).

The study is taking place Australia-wide.
